1. Statement of Intent
From time to time, you will be asked to submit personal information about yourself (e.g. name and email address etc) in order to receive or use services on our website. Such services include newsletters and competitions, live chats and message boards and personalised services such as "funding update". By entering your details in the fields requested, Health Action Charity Organisation will be able to provide you with the services you select. Whenever you provide such personal information, we will treat that information in accordance with this policy. Our services are designed to give you the help and information that you want to receive. Health Action Charity Organisation will act in accordance with current legislation and aim to meet current internet best practice.

2. Information On Visitors
During the course of any visit to Health Action Charity Organisation, the pages which you see, along with something called a Cookie, are downloaded to your computer (see paragraph 3 below for more on this). Most, if not all, web sites do this, and that's because cookies allow the web site publisher to do useful things like find out whether the computer (and probably its user) has visited the site before. When you supply any personal information to Health Action Charity Organisation (for example for competitions, chats, or Health Action Charity Organisation’s personalised services) we have legal obligations towards you in the way we deal with that data. Where personal information is held for people who are not yet registered, but have taken part in other Online services (for example competitions), that information will be held only as long as necessary to ensure that the service is run smoothly. We will ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

5. Access To Your Personal Information
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information which Health Action Charity Organisation holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. 6. Direct Marketing And user Surveys
As Health Action Charity Organisation’s services expand, there will be more opportunities to enhance the services provided to you. From time to time we may provide you with details of other Health Action Charity Organisation services and products which may be of interest to you and offer you the opportunity to subscribe to them. We may also offer you the opportunity to participate in surveys carried out by Health Action Charity Organisation or its agents which help our research into the types of service we offer. Health Action Charity Organisation will keep a record of information provided by you. Please note that any information you provide to Health Action Charity Organisation will only be used within Health Action Charity Organisation, and will never be supplied to third parties without first obtaining your consent. The only time we may do so is if we are obliged by law to disclose information. For any and all email transmitted information you will be provided with an unsubscribe mechanism. We will only send you by email information that you have opted to receive. Your email address will only be used for the sole purposes of communicating with you and not provided to other organisations.

7. Users Under 18
If you are under 18, please make sure that you obtain your parent/guardian's permission beforehand whenever you provide personal information to Health Action Charity Organisation's website. Users without this consent are not allowed to provide us with personal information. Also, if you do use this site for information about fundraising, campaigning or supporting the work of Health Action Charity Organisation please let an adult know.

8. Security
No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information Health Action Charity Organisation cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.

9. Fraudulent Online Activity
Health Action Charity Organisation endeavours to prevent online fraudulent activity taking place. In order to prevent this activity from happening we have put additional security checks in place on our website. As a result of these checks there are times when we will be unable to process card transactions on the first attempt due to missing or incorrect information. This could include an uncompleted field or missing/incorrect address information. On these occasions we will encourage the cardholder to contact our helpdesk in order to complete the transaction or to try again online using a different card.
